Grandma would be proud!

Here is the cake Shauna and I had been working on for the Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet. The theme was Chinese New Year. This was a lot of fun, my first attempt at a cake like this. We made the patches out of gum paste and then painted them with food coloring. When we were making it we felt like we were on "Ace of Cakes" (one of my favorite shows) Anyways it was huge, it fed 75 people.

Mmmmmmmm!

So Shauna and I are working on a cake today (pictures will come soon) when all of a sudden Jack says, "Mom, look at Lincoln". We look over and this is what we find, he had opened the box and the cake mix. When he saw that he was caught he just looked up and said, "Mmmmmmmm!"

Update on Jack

Day 3 no accidents so far, he has gone pee like 10 times already today, but he is at the point that I don't ask him anymore he just walks to the bathroom and goes. We even ran errands all morning and no accidents. I know none of you probably care, but to us this really is amazing!

So Gross!

Okay so an update on Jack, he went all day today, even through church with no accidents. He hadn't pooped yet on the toilet so I have been trying to get that to happen all day. Well we just had our first poop accident, I was so tempted to just throw away the underwear....I don't really know which is worse, dealing with that or a 4 year old in diapers....,maybe I'm not ready for this. For some reason he just freaks out when he needs to sit on the toilet, I think the pooping is going to be a challenge. But other than that I am shocked at how well he is doing. Today in sacrament meeting I kept asking him if he needed to go and he finally turned to me and loudly said, "Mom just leave me alone!"

It's a Miracle!

Well we thought the day would never come. Today Jack said to me that he didn't want to wear diapers anymore. I put these underwear on him around 10 this morning and he hasn't had an accident yet. I have just been asking him and taking his word that he doesn't have to go (I have already been through the putting him in the toilet every 20 minutes and that didn't seem to work) I asked him if he needed to go again like 30 minutes ago and he said yes. We went to the toilet, he stood there and peed! I hope this doesn't jinx us but this is a big deal for us, he is doing it all himself! After he went he ran to tell daddy and said "daddy is going to be so happy". I guess Justin had a talk with him this morning about being a big boy. After he told Justin he said to me, "Jordan is going to be so happy too!" (my brother, jack is somewhat obsessed with him at times)

Update on Lincoln

Here is a picture of him sleeping in his new bed. Unfortunately we put him back in teh crib last night. Things have been really rough for this poor little guy. We heard back yesterday from the doctors and the test came back that he has a Staff Infection. Which could I guess be very serious. He is on some antibiotic cream and an oral antibiotic as well. Unfortuanley the pharmacist told us teh the medicine may cause him to be nauseas which would explain his throuwing up last night in bed. Today he is just very clingy and it looks to me like he may be getting to or three more bois right next to the one that is finally going away. We are just keeping in the house, trying not to be around any other people and doind a lot of laundry and disinfecting.

This is so Gross, Poor Lincoln

Well Lincoln has been suffering from boils for the past couple of weeks. The dermatoligist wanted me to bring him in as soon as he got another one so that he could take a culture to see where this is coming from.....it's not normal for little kids to get boils, especially in Las Vegas where the climate is so dry. Well since that appointmnet on Friday, we have had to pin him down and drain the thing 7 times! And let me tell you it is a lot of crap that comes out of these things. I know this is really gross, sorry! He has been limping around (its on his hip) and only wanting to sit on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse. Here are some sad pictures of our little man today. I swear this poor kid just has one thing after another.

This was him all day today, it hurts for him to bend his little leg so it is always straight like that.

Here he is with daddy holding him after the traumatic draining...see his little bandaide. He was just so glad it was over. And now everytime I lay him down to change his diaper he starts screaming because he knows whats coming.

Jack is dressing himself these days

I know this should have been happening long ago, but I just am always in a hurry it seems and it is just easier to dress him myself. Justin started getting mad at me for holding him back so I have been trying to slow down and let him do things himself, which by the way is really frustrating. Here is an outfit that he picked all by himself, tucked in and everything by him. Luckily we were just driving around all day and he wouldn't be seen in this beauty.

Also a funny little discovery Jack has been making are boobs. Today he asked me

Jack- "Mom what are these bumps?"
Me- "Those are what girls have, not boys, they are just bumps"
Jack- (pulling at my shirt_ "Can I see them?.....Just a little bit"

Ummmmm....awkward, and cute, Shauna and I were cracking up!

Feeling Crafty

So this week I was feeling crafty. I have been looking for a cute Valentine's wreath and couldn't find what I was looking for and they are all like $20. So I thought of the idea of gluing conversation hearts around a wreath. I think it turned out really cute. If you want one for next year let me know. I am selling them for $35, Shauna should me how to set up an "etsy shop" on line to sell all of the cards, invites and random crafts I make, so stay tuned for my link to that. And in case you are wondering I sprayed it with a clear acrylic varnish to seal the hearts. I didn't want birds pecking at my door! It made them hard as rocks too. If you feel like trying this project...warning....it takes ALOT of time!

Justin Jr.

So I gave Jack some watercolor paints today that he got for Christmas from my mom. This was his first time trying them, the first picture was just like a blob, just getting used to how the paints work. And then Shauna called me downstairs and I saw this little beauty. All I can say is he takes after his very talented dad.

This is me

I spy with my little eye

So Jack's new favorite game is "I Spy" we were playing tit the other day and this is how it happened.

Me: "I spy with my little eye something cute" (I was thinking of picture of the boys)
Jack: "Is it me!"

And now everytime we play he says, say something cute.

Lincoln

Seriously just when I think this kid can't get any cuter! Shauna took this picture of him after his bath the other night, precious. He is talking so good now and just wants to do everything that Jack does. One funny thing is for some reason he insist on calling Shauna Grandma......its pretty funny because she gets pretty mad! I think one day he just realized he could say it and so he wanted to use his new word and since no grandmas were around shauna was the next best thing. We took him to the dermatoligist the other day, his face is looking really good, we are on a new treatment plan for that, but unfortunately he has been getting boils.....so sad and nasty! So we arn't sure where those are coming from the next one that comes to a head ( I know this is nasty, sorry!) we have to take him in for a culture. Anyways Lincoln is sick too, he sounds like a 60 year old smoker, but he is such a trooper and has been so good.
